Terms of Service
1. About these Terms
These Terms govern your use of the Kai Coach NZ mobile application, website and services (the "Service") operated from Aotearoa New Zealand. By creating an account or subscribing you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Who we are
Kai Coach NZ is operated by KAI FOOD COACH LIMITED (NZ Company Number 9434680), a New Zealand limited company. For questions, contact kaicoachnz@gmail.com. We'll update this when our hello@kaicoach.co.nz mailbox is live.
3. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your login safe and for everything that happens under your account. You must be 16+ to subscribe. Sign-in uses Google OAuth via Emergent, or Sign in with Apple on iOS.
4. Subscriptions & billing
Plans (NZD, incl. GST where applicable):
- Kai Coach Solo — NZ$14.99 / month
- Kai Coach Family — NZ$24.99 / month
- Kai Coach Family — Annual — NZ$249.00 / year
Subscriptions auto-renew at the price shown until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe Payments NZ Ltd. We never see your card details.
5. Free trial & cancellation
Cancel any time from Profile → Cancel subscription or by emailing us. On cancel:
- Monthly plans: you keep access until the end of the current billing period. No further charges.
- Annual plans: you keep access until the end of the paid year. Pro-rata refunds at our discretion and in line with the NZ Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
We don't issue refunds for partial months or forgotten cancellations, except where the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986 requires.
6. What you get
Kai Coach generates weekly AI meal plans and smart grocery lists tuned to NZ supermarkets. Prices and specials are estimates — Pak'nSave, Woolworths NZ and New World set their own prices and they change without notice. We aren't affiliated with or endorsed by any supermarket.
7. Disclaimer on savings
Savings figures are estimates based on average NZ grocery spend (source: Stats NZ Household Economic Survey). Your actual savings depend on your household, current prices, and shopping habits. Kai Coach does not guarantee a specific savings amount.
8. Health & dietary disclaimer
Meal plans are general guidance, not medical or dietary advice. If you have allergies, medical conditions or special dietary needs, consult a registered NZ dietitian.
9. Acceptable use
Don't reverse-engineer, scrape, resell or abuse the Service. Don't use the Service to send spam or break NZ law.
10. Intellectual property
Content inside the app (recipes, copy, branding, photos) is ours or licensed. You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use it while your subscription is active.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by NZ law, Kai Coach NZ's total liability to you is capped at the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. We'll notify you in-app or by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Disputes are dealt with in NZ courts.
